We’ve been addressing the special dental needs of cancer patients for over a decade.
These are some of the Oral complications of cancer therapy:
- Erosion of the enamel due to vomiting
- Taste alteration
- Xerostomia (dry mouth)
- Radiation caries
- Tooth sensitivity
- Pulpal pain
We’ll conduct a pre-treatment oral evaluation to rule out oral disease, provide a baseline for comparison and monitor the effect of radiation and chemotherapy, detect cancer lesions in mouth and reduce oral discomfort during the treatment.
Oral Care During Cancer Therapy
Patients undergoing heady and neck radiation or being hospitalized for chemotherapy , should complete their oral care before start of the treatment.
Otherwise, dental care should be provided between cycles.
